Experience the New River Trail for biking and hiking, the Blue Ridge Music Center, Mabry Mill, Stone Mountain with beautiful waterfalls and hiking, New River kayaking, tubing, canoeing, and Mayberry, home of Andy Griffith. The cabin has a no-pet policy.
This is a beautiful cabin experience with wood floors, walls, and ceilings, and an amazing back deck with a gorgeous view of the mountains. A mountain view from the covered front porch is another plus. Guests have access to a fully stocked kitchen to cook with some spices, oil, coffee, and tea provided. The kitchen has a dishwasher, stove, microwave, refrigerator, washer, and dryer. There is a small propane grill and propane firepit on the deck. You will want to note that this is a 600-square-foot cabin, so it is cozy. Galax, Virginia is a quiet rural community with farmland, mountain views, and the Blue Ridge Parkway within one mile.

The site is operated through a partnership between the National Park Service and the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation to offer educational events and concerts. Old Time Bluegrass Fiddler's Convention. Before the second weekend in August each year, lovers of country and mountain music leave their homes in time to be in Galax, Virginia for the Annual Old Fiddler's Convention. For some, this means hundreds of miles of travel, while for others it will be a short trip from their nearby homes. Most of these people don't play music, and come just the listening and renew old acquaintances. The Old Fiddler's Convention originated in the spring of 1935 when a few members of the then-new Moose Lodge needed something to raise funds and promote publicity. In a newspaper item at the time it was stated that the Convention was dedicated to Keeping alive the memories and sentiments of days gone by and making it possible for people.
